Unlocking innovation: empowering impactful R&I projects, a complementary Course, co-organized by PRIMA

PRIMA is excited to announce the upcoming 3-day training, “Mastering Research & Innovation Project Design for a Successful Application: From Idea to Funding,” scheduled to take place from September 11th to September 13th, 2023, at Cairo, Egypt. This course is tailored to empower Egyptian researchers and professionals, with the essential tools and insights required to design impactful research and innovation projects successfully.

The training program has been designed by PRIMA and will count on the intervention of PRIMA’s Project Officers, Dr. Mohamed Wageih and Dr. Ali Rhouma, who will actively participate throughout the workshop, bringing their valuable insights and experience to the training sessions. Prof. Mohamed El Shinawi, co-Chair of PRIMA, will be in attendance for the opening and certificate distribution ceremony.

Collaborative Partnerships

The workshop is being organized by the Partnership for Research & Innovation in the Mediterranean Area (PRIMA) in collaboration with several esteemed partners, including the Egyptian Knowledge Bank (EKB), Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MHESR), the EU Delegation of Egypt, the Egyptian Center for Innovation and Technology Development (ECITD), and Knowledge E.

Activity Overview

The 3-day event promises an enriching experience through a variety of activities, including:

  • Expert Presentations: Participants will gain valuable insights from experts who will explore proposal development techniques, tools, and strategies.
  • Hands-On Activities: Participants will engage in dynamic group work on real topics, guided by expert coaching and mentoring, to transform R&I concepts into actionable plans.
  • Success Stories: Participants will be inspired by success stories of Egyptian researchers who have secured competitive grants as coordinators and project leaders.
  • Certificate: Upon successful completion of the program, participants will receive a certificate in recognition of their commitment and completion of all training activities.

Event Schedule

  • Day One (Monday, September 11): Explore the funding landscape, understand funding agencies and opportunities, and dive into strategies and techniques for successful funding acquisition.
  • Day Two (Tuesday, September 12): Share additional resources for finding funding opportunities and equip participants with the tools and strategies for project planning and proposal writing.
  • Day Three (Wednesday, September 13): Inspire and empower participants to turn ideas into compelling proposals and defend them. Refine your project proposal, showcase it to experienced mentors, and gain valuable feedback.
