The Horticulture department is composed of fruit science, vegetable science, viticulture, plant breeding, postharvest physiology and ornamental crops. The researches on the problems concerning horticultural crops production in Mediterranean Region are carried out in Antalya and neighbouring provinces. The Department mainly deals with physiology, breeding, introduction, propagation, adaptation, earliness, fruit yield and quality of temperate zone, subtropical and tropical horticultural crops.
I am currently full time Professor of the Department of Horticulture. So far, due to the climatic change, tropical fruit growing is very popular in Turkey. Therefore, I am interested in tropical and subtropical fruit growing under open-field and protected cultivation. I am expert on banana, carob, papaya, mango, litchi, longan, carambola, avocados, pitaya and passiflora cultivation etc. I have been taken a role many national and international projects in this areas. - Topic 1.2.1-2024 (IA) Transformative Adaptation of Mediterranean dry farming systems using water harvesting techniques to address extreme drought in arid and semi-arid environments.

I am looking for partners who work on the effect of climatic change on tropical fruit production.
