Özyeğin University, located in Istanbul, Turkey, is a private, non-profit institution dedicated to generating original, innovative, and valuable knowledge through its modern education and research system. Özyeğin University placed first among foundation universities in Türkiye for the fifth consecutive time since 2019 in the 2023 UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, which assess universities all over the world based on their sustainability initiatives and the extent of green spaces within their campuses.
Within the Faculty of Engineering, our "Fiber Laser Laboratory" research group specializes in developing fiber lasers and applying laser-based techniques for material processing and diagnosis.

As a research group specializing in fiber laser development and laser material processing at the "Fiber Laser Laboratory" at the Faculty of Engineering, we possess expertise in the following areas:
1-Constructing Fiber Lasers based on Yb-, Er-, and Tm-doped materials, operating at wavelengths of 1 µm, 1.5 µm, and 2 µm.
2-Developing both continuous wave (CW) and pulses fiber lasers capable of generating nanosecond (ns), femtosecond (fs), and picosecond (ps) pulses.
3-Implementing laser processing techniques on diverse materials, including those related to the food industry and agriculture.
4-Conducting the home-built Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) to analyze the material.Our primary objective is to leverage our laser technology for laser-based applications, specifically focusing on enhancing food quality and advancing laser-assisted food processing methods.
We are running one project to develop a new generation of fiber lasers for LIBS application in food engineering.Our group is open to collaborating on the PRIMA proposals.
