The National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA) in Morocco is a reference institution dedicated to the advancement of agricultural research. Founded as a public institution, INRA's history dates back to 1914, with the creation of the first official agricultural research services. Recently, INRA embarked on a complete structural reorganization aimed at improving its management processes through modernization efforts.
The aim of the new organisation is to provide the institution with :
- appropriate strategic planning to strengthen its capacity to adapt, react and anticipate social demand for agricultural research;
- a policy of proximity, based on the regionalisation and deconcentration of research;
- an integrated monitoring, evaluation and control system;
- integrated and rational resource management;
- a policy of adding value to its products;
- a coherent information and cooperation policy.INRA operates through ten regional agricultural research centres and 23 experimental estates spread across the country and covering the country's various agrosystems.
INRA's research projects are defined with the participation of regional partners, clients and prescribers. They are carried out by thirty research units housed in the Regional Centres. They are supervised at central level by ten scientific departments with a disciplinary focus.

Our team is composed of a diverse group of researchers, technicians and PhD students, supported by professional partners. We have extensive expertise in remote sensing technologies - including optical and radar satellite imagery, as well as drone operations - GIS (geographic information systems) and the application of machine learning/deep learning in various projects. We are involved in a wide range of applications, including precision agriculture such as tree and crop health assessment and yield forecasting, hydrological status assessments, digital soil mapping and land use change analysis. We are also heavily involved in studying the effects of climate change on water resources, using satellite data to accurately assess water availability and status.
In addition, our team has access to well-equipped soil science laboratories and experimental sites, enhancing our research capabilities in soil analysis and crop field studies.
We are interested in exploring collaborative opportunities related to our areas of expertise, and welcome partnerships that align with our research interests and capabilities ( [email protected] / [email protected] ) -
