- Central Laboratory for Aquaculture Research (CLAR):
1. Design and carry out the research strategy for sustainable development of Aquaculture and Fisheries in Egypt, related to the direct general strategy of the country and integration with animals and plant production, to save the food requirements from fish protein, to reach self-sufficient from fish protein sources, then export the fish. In the meantime, the environmental, and socioeconomic aspects will be considered.
2. Develop technology transfer to the target organs. Modify and transfer the results of research and studies to target policymakers for developing rural and desert societies.
3. Conducting applied research in the various scientific fields: - Fish production & Aquaculture Systems, Hatchery and fish physiology, Limnology, Breeding and genetics, Fish ecology and biology, Fish health and Zoonosis, Fish processing and quality control, Nutrition, Fish extension, Fish economy. - Topic 2.2.1 (RIA ) Revitalizing agroforestry practices for sustainable land use and climate resilience in the Mediterranean region
- Topic 1.3.1-2024 (IA) – Developing cost-effective and sustainable technologies adapted to Mediterranean Food Systems to decrease food loss and waste. | Topic 2.3.1-2024 (RIA ) Leveraging urban and local food systems for sustainable food systems transformation

- CLAR can lead participants to support the full deployment of the project outputs, by building a program to take the results generated closer to the market. CLAR will have a strong role in planning exploitation routes for the post-project phase.
- CLAR can work with the project members if any topics can design and implement their outputs in Egypt or African countries -
