The Workgroup for Economic and Infrastructure Policy (WIP) is part of the Institute of Economics and Law at Faculty VII (Economics & Management) of Technische Universität Berlin. TUB WIP is dedicated to advancing infrastructure policy and planning, particularly in areas like sustainable transportation, smart cities, energy optimization, Agriculture, and water resource management.
- Topic 1.1.1-2024 (IA) Sustainability of Mediterranean irrigated agriculture through the implementation of WEFE Nexus approach.
-
The research group at TUB WIP specializes in advancing infrastructure policy and planning, with a focus on sustainable transportation, smart cities, energy optimization, agriculture, and water resource management. The team brings together experts in various fields to address complex challenges related to infrastructure sustainability and resilience.
Their interdisciplinary approach allows them to develop innovative solutions that promote efficient resource use, enhance environmental sustainability, and improve overall infrastructure performance. Through their expertise and collaborative efforts, the research group at TUB WIP adds significant value by contributing to the development of policies and strategies that support sustainable development and address critical infrastructure needs in rural settings.
TUB-WIP focusing on addressing sustainability challenges in agriculture through the implementation of Digitized RE Microgrids and Smart Storage Solutions on regional farms would require a multidisciplinary collaboration and expertise. The team has expertise in renewable energy systems, microgrid technology, smart storage solutions, water management, climate change adaptation, and sustainable agriculture practices.
Furthermore, the team has researchers skilled in data analysis and modeling to develop micro-level models for pilot farms, providing detailed insights into farming and irrigation systems at the local level. These insights would then be scaled up to macro models considering the regional context, aiding in the development of climate change adaptation and mitigation models for informed decision-making.
Additionally, TUB-WIP is an expert in stakeholder analysis, policy development, and engagement which is crucial for mapping out stakeholders, engaging with local communities, and developing policy briefs to address the nexus sectors of water, energy, food, and ecosystems.
Overall, the research team would require a diverse set of skills and knowledge to effectively tackle the sustainability challenges in agriculture through innovative technologies and practices. -
