This research project seeks collaboration with a diverse range of stakeholders and partners/researchers to develop a sustainable dairy value chain. This includes dairy farmers of all sizes, processors, distributors, retailers, consumers, government agencies, and NGOs and researchers that can contribute in this research project. The project aims to co-develop and implement a sustainable dairy value chain framework through a participatory approach. This collaborative effort will ensure the proposed solutions are tailored to the local context as well as it can be replicated for other scenarios similar to our case in the Mediterranean region and address the needs of all actors involved, and promote long-term adoption of sustainable practices.
Specifically, but not limited to, the project seeks partners who can contribute to:
• Data collection and analysis: Sharing data on FLW generation, participating in surveys and interviews, and providing access to facilities for waste audits.
• Technology identification and assessment: Identifying and evaluating cost-effective and sustainable technologies for FLW reduction at each stage of the value chain.
• Social innovation: Developing and implementing social innovation strategies to promote sustainable consumption practices and reduce FLW at the consumer level.
• Pilot project implementation: Participating in the pilot project to test and refine the proposed framework for a sustainable dairy value chain.
• Dissemination and advocacy: Sharing project results and advocating for policy changes to support the adoption of sustainable practices. -
