Blockchain Traceability for Olive Supply Chain

The Olive Growers Cooperative Limited has been set up in 2023 and represents the olive growers in Malta. During 2023 we have carried out a dynamic programme of events and activities focused on the reform of the olive sector and been awarded the Best Newcomer Cooperative. We are ready and willing to cooperate on project related to water management, food systems and also farming systems.

We are seeking experienced organisations in blockchain technology to work together on a traceability system for the olive sector which is build on fragmented small farms and multiple olive mills. The system can also be linked to an olive mill reservation system to be used by the olive growers and the olive mill to coordinate the harvesting of olive and having the olives process within 24 hours of harvesting. The project will also include the development of scientific tools to advise olive growers when best to harvest their olives for maximum output of olive oil.
