Partner in a research consortium related with food safety

The State General Laboratory (SGL) is the Official Government Laboratory for chemical and microbiological control and national monitoring for food. In cooperation with the competent authorities, it actively participates in planning and implementation of control, monitoring and research programs. It has a well-established expertise, scientific excellence and state-of-the-art infrastructure and undertakes research primarily aiming to investigate problems and emerging threats as well as to support the development and implementation of policies in the fields of Public Health, Food Safety and Risk Assessment. The SGL’s state of the art equipment includes ICP-OES, ICP-MS, LC-MS/MS, LCQ ToF, GC-MS, GC-MS/MS, GC ECD’s, FTIR-NIR, HPLC-PDA, HPLC-RI, HPLC-FLD, etc. Besides the SGL is a public research Institute recognized by the Cyprus Research Promotion Foundation.
