The PRIMA Work Programme 2025, dedicated to research and innovation in water management, farming systems, and the agri-food value chain within the Mediterranean region, has been officially published.
Notably, this is the first Work Programme under the extended PRIMA partnership, now operating under Horizon Europe rules, following its extension until 2031.
The calls launched under PRIMA will support projects that promote sustainable resource management, enhance the resilience of Mediterranean ecosystems, and develop locally adapted, innovative solutions for the agri-food and water sectors. Recognizing the interdependencies among sectors, PRIMA adopts a Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystems (WEFE) Nexus approach, fostering integrated and sustainable solutions.
The 2025 Work Programme will further strengthen synergies with EU initiatives, particularly the EU Missions on ‘Restore our Ocean and Waters by 2030’, ‘A Soil Deal for Europe’, and ‘Adaptation to Climate Change’. Additionally, it aligns with relevant EU Partnerships.
By mobilizing public investments, the Work Programme 2025 seeks to accelerate the digital and green transitions, ensuring that the Mediterranean region benefits from cutting-edge research and solutions that drive sustainable development and regional stability.
To provide potential applicants with detailed information on funding opportunities and application procedures, an Info Day will be organized on the 14th of April to present the 2025 call topics and address any questions. The agenda for the Info Day is available here. The registration link will be shared soon—stay tuned and follow PRIMA’s channels for updates.
