As the PRIMA Calls for Proposals 2025 are launched, we are reconnecting with our community across the Mediterranean. In the coming weeks, a series of national Info Days will be organised by national funding agencies and key partners in the region. These events aim to present the 2025 Calls, provide guidance on participation, and open space for discussion on future directions.
After recent stops in Germany and Malta, Jordan, Egypt, the Maghreb (Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia), the next info days will take place in Italy, and Spain (see information below).
Each Info Day is adapted to the national context but shares the same goal: to provide researchers, institutions, and stakeholders with the tools and information they need to participate in the 2025 Calls—and to begin planning for what comes next.
FUTURE4PRIMA Workshops: Looking Ahead
In several countries, the National Info Days will be followed by consultation workshops under the FUTURE4PRIMA project. These workshops aim to gather direct input from the PRIMA community to help shape the next phase of the partnership. Topics include:
- Aligning priorities with Mediterranean challenges
- Strengthening participation from Southern Mediterranean countries
- Structuring and governing the future PRIMA2 programme

Italy – 22 May (Online)
Organised by APRE, in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of University and Research and the University of Siena, this virtual event includes an Info Day and a consultation workshop focused on PRIMA’s contribution to the future EU Framework Programme (FP10).

Past Info Days: Jordan – 5 to 7 May
PRIMA will participate in the EU–Jordan Research Days, organised by the Higher Council for Science and Technology, with support from COST and Horizon Europe. Events will take place at universities across the country:
- 5 May – Jordan University of Science and Technology (North)
- 6 May – University of Jordan (Central)
- 7 May – Mutah University (South)
More than 400 participants are expected. The sessions will present the 2025 Calls, highlight funding opportunities, and offer networking space.
Egypt – 8 May
Hosted at the National Research Center in Giza, this Info Day will explore the 2025 Calls in depth, including themes, funding schemes, and practical advice for proposal development. A FUTUREP4RIMA consultation workshop will follow.

This regional Info Day includes a detailed presentation of the PRIMA Calls (Sections 1 and 2), followed by a consultation workshop focused on strategic input for PRIMA2. The session is organised online to enable broad participation.
