Mountains of Research Collaborative Laboratory – MORE CoLAB – is a Private non-profit association recognized since 2018 as a Collaborative Laboratory by the Foundation for Science and Technology Portugal (FCT).
It results from the consortium of research units, laboratories, universities, technological hubs, companies, and intermediary and interface centers.
MORE CoLAB was created with the goal of increasing the competitiveness of companies and organizations that present innovation as their backbone and common denominator.
MORE CoLAB’s global strategy is based on an operational response that encompasses a Vision and a Mission.
Thus, its Mission is to be the link between scientific knowledge and the business community, with the main objective of territorial development through innovation and the creation of economic, social, environmental, and cultural value in mountain regions, supported by the uniqueness, quality, and sustainability of its endogenous resources.
In order to fulfill its Vision, MORE CoLAB aims to be a reference in innovation and in the transfer of green and digital technology, capable of guaranteeing sustainable development in mountain regions.
We promote the development of mountain regions, with a focus on the Mediterranean mountain, addressing innovation in three ways:
1) Industrial innovation – by launching new products and services based on mountain regions’ endogenous resources;
2) Technological innovation – by investing in industry 4.0 and in a more efficient use of natural resources;
3) Social innovation – by impacting the economy and sustainable development, contributing to qualified employment that generates economic, social, and cultural value.
We are seeking to join a consortium for PRIMA calls 2.2.1 and 2.3.1 as a technology partner specializing in IoT, AI, and digital platforms.
Our Tech Group in MORE COLAB develops and implements innovative, scalable solutions for agriculture and food systems, with experience in:
-Smart monitoring systems for crops and environmental conditions
-AI-based pest and disease detection (e.g., smart traps)
-Digital traceability solutions using IoT and blockchain
-Data platforms for decision support and real-time monitoring
We aim to contribute to:
-The design and development of remote and non-invasive monitoring systems for pest and disease control
-The integration of AI models for prediction and early detection
-The development of context-aware digital traceability solutions across food value chains
-Pilot implementation and validation in real environments (TRL 6–8)
-We are particularly interested in collaborating with:
-Research institutions (for advanced models and methodologies)
-Agricultural stakeholders (for pilots and validation)
-Technology partners (for system integration and scaling)
-Public entities and associations (for impact and dissemination)
Our goal is to co-develop innovative, practical, and scalable solutions aligned with PRIMA priorities in sustainable agriculture and food systems.
