GreenUPorto – Sustainable Agrifood Research Centre is a recently established Research Unit from UPorto, rated as Excellent by FCT and being part of the Associate Laboratory ‘Inov4Agro’. Its mission is to contribute to scientific and technological development and knowledge transfer in the field of agronomy, food, and environmental sciences, promoting sustained growth of this sector. GreenUPorto has a set of relevant infrastructures (open-fields, greenhouses, growth chambers) and well-equipped Labs (e.g. molecular biology, biochemistry, microbiology, food- and soil- and environmental quality).
My name is Maria Martins, I am a PhD Researcher at in Plant Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at GreenUPorto/FCUP, with expertise in plant abiotic stress physiology and redox metabolism. I am interested in joining a PRIMA consortium where my expertise in plant physiology and soil ecotoxicology can provide added value, particularly in addressing Mediterranean agricultural challenges related to climate change, water use efficiency, and plant stress physiology. Additionally, I offer complementary skills in the valorization of agro-industrial residues, contributing to the development of sustainable, circular bio-based solutions within interdisciplinary approaches.
