Afyonkarahisar Health Sciences University (Turkey) operates a specialized research group within the Department of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants. Our facilities are equipped for both field trials and laboratory analysis. We specialize in the agronomy of MAPs under arid conditions, abiotic stress management, and the application of advanced agricultural inputs (such as nanoparticles and biofertilizers). Our laboratory infrastructure supports the phytochemical characterization of plant extracts, essential oil profiling (GC-MS), and antioxidant activity assays. We have active field trial areas suitable for testing sustainable agricultural practices, abiotic stress responses, and new cultivation models in the Mediterranean climate.

We seek to join a consortium as a partner for Work Packages (WPs) related to field validation and quality control. Specifically, we can validate the efficiency of proposed ICT monitoring systems or on-site processing technologies by conducting physiological evaluations and phytochemical profiling (GC/FID-MS) of the targeted crops. We bring ready-to-use field trial areas in Turkey to test the project’s interventions (e.g., new pest control applications or processing methods) on MAPs under real Mediterranean arid conditions.
We are currently active members in COST Action CA23123 (WeedingMAPs – Working Group 1), demonstrating our ongoing engagement and reliability in European scientific networks regarding medicinal and aromatic plants.
