The Research Institute for Groundwater seeks collaboration with universities, technology providers, and agricultural partners to support the development of decentralized brackish groundwater desalination systems for Mediterranean agriculture. This topic represents a pressing challenge in Egypt and a high priority for the government, particularly in light of increasing water scarcity and the need to support sustainable agricultural expansion. Egypt also offers multiple potential pilot and study areas where this project can be effectively implemented under diverse hydrogeological and climatic conditions. The institute could contribute to: – Groundwater assessment and site selection for suitable brackish aquifers. – Support in system design based on local hydrogeological and water quality conditions. – Monitoring and evaluation of water quality, aquifer sustainability, and environmental impacts. – Data analysis and modeling to ensure long-term resource efficiency and climate resilience
