PRIMA’s First Interim Evaluation showcases remarkable progress in Mediterranean Research and Innovation

PRIMA is glad to make public its first interim evaluation results, unveiling its significant contributions to the research an innovation landscape in the Mediterranean region. PRIMA’s achievements in the pasts years have positioned the program as a trailblazer in driving breakthroughs in crucial sectors and fostering collaboration for scientific progress.

The report’s findings were supported by objective data and evidence, including input from the PRIMA Implementation Structure (PRIMA-IS) and an assessment study commissioned for the evaluation (CSES 2022).

1️⃣ PRIMA’s Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda has been instrumental in propelling scientific advancements in key sectors such as water and agro-food. By promoting collaborative solutions, PRIMA has facilitated groundbreaking research and innovation efforts in the Mediterranean, contributing to the sustainable development of the region.

2️⃣ The European Commission commends PRIMA for its substantial contributions to vital EU priorities, including the European Green Deal, Farm to Fork and Biodiversity strategies, Bioeconomy Strategy, Climate Adaptation Strategy, and the Circular Economy Action Plan. PRIMA’s commitment to these priorities has positioned it at the forefront of fostering sustainability and resilience in the Mediterranean region.

3️⃣ PRIMA’s innovative implementation structure has revolutionized research, innovation, and collaboration in the Mediterranean. By bridging national agencies and initiatives, PRIMA has established itself as a pioneering platform, fostering fruitful partnerships and accelerating progress in various scientific domains.

These outcomes have set the stage for discussions about the future of PRIMA. With activities planned until 2028 and strong support from participating states, PRIMA is well-positioned to continue its transformative journey, shaping the Mediterranean research and innovation landscape.
