SOGRAPE Vinhos S.A. is a family-owned Portuguese wine company. It is currently the largest wine company operating in Portugal and is recognised by the global media as one of the best wine companies in the world. SOGRAPE produces grapes and wine in 12 regions in 5 countries (Portugal, Spain, Argentina, Chile and New Zealand), cultivating a total of 1,647 hectares of vineyards. The company sells 167 bottles per minute, generating a turnover of more than 347 million euros in 2022. Sustainability is a key priority for SOGRAPE, which has launched a global programme called Seed the Future, which represents and reinforces the company's commitment to a more responsible, inclusive and qualified future, and has implemented measures to ensure sustainable production, climate protection, the environment and life on Earth. SOGRAPE has an R&D department that actively develops research projects covering the entire value chain. Indeed, SOGRAPE has experience in participating in European projects, having been a stakeholder in the EUPORIAS project (FP7) and a partner in the H2020 MED-GOLD, i-GRAPE and NOVATERRA projects, the last of which is still ongoing, as well as the COPPEREPLACE project funded by INTERREG SUDOE.
