climate change, profitability evaluation, sustainability of production systems in terms of water footprint, energy use, carbon footprint, and economics
We, as a team consisting of Animal scientist (Prof. Hayati Koknaroglu) and agricultural economist (Prof. Vecdi Demircan) are willing to participate as a partner in research related to assesement of effect of climate change on animal agriculture, cost and profitability of animal production systems, sustainability of animal production systems in terms of water footprint, energy use efficiency, carbon footprinting, profitability, socio-economic factors affecting performance, cost and profitability of animal producers, technical and economical efficiency of farms. We have established a good background in the aforementioned subjects supported with publications in well respected peer reviewed international journals.
We, both, Prof. Hayati Koknaroglu and Prof. Vecdi Demircan served as department head in our faculty and have skills in communications and administrative work. Research projects we conducted in national and international level contributed us in executing research projects. Prof. Hayati Koknaroglu, received his Masters and doctorate degree from Iowa State University in United States whereas Prof. Vecdi Demircan as a visiting scientist visited Ohio State University in United States. Thus we both are fluent in English which is an official language for PRIMA program.
