We seek collaboration to act as a Work Package leader in an Innovative Action involving environmental modeling with emphasis on fate and transport of nutrients and other specific pollutants in surface water and/or groundwater.
We are particularly interested in creating digital twins of one or a combination of Nature-based Solution (NbS) that has the purpose to mitigate eutrophication and act as reactive barriers in the protection of water bodies. These NbS-digital twins can be used in to comprehensively evaluate effectiveness of the NbS system under different contaminant loadings, hydrological and climatic conditions.
Our research group, the Environmental Modeling and Hydroinformatics Lab, has proven expertise in the development and application of local to regional-scale groundwater flow and contaminant transport models, watershed models, hydrological/hydrogeological and geochemical characterization of aquifers and river basins, and multi-criteria decision making for water resources management. We have been involved in two PRIMA funded research projects. We would be interested in being work package leaders in a project consortium, and are looking for opportunities to join a partnership with the current 2025 call for project proposals under the theme Water Management.
