We are interested in being partners in a Prima proposal. Our research group is a member of the water campus of the University of Girona. We develop a method where the microplastic extraction is carried out using micrometer-sized magnetic powders after being functionalized with different acids. This method has been applied in water solutions and sediments. It can also be applied to oil removal. The removal efficiency has been increased to 92%. It is a system that allows the reuse of particles. We are interested in the experimental improvement and in the design of a pilot plant.
