The CBIOS – Research Center for Biosciences and Health Technologies at Universidade Lusófona – would like to express its interest in joining a consortium for the submission of a proposal under PRIMA Topic 1.3.1 (IA) – 2025: “Transforming Mediterranean Food Systems: Empowering Consumers for Sustainable Diets.”
CBIOS is a research unit accredited by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), dedicated to the development of interdisciplinary scientific knowledge in the areas of health, food, and wellbeing, with a strong emphasis on promoting sustainable and healthy lifestyles.
Our core competencies include:
Applied research in healthy eating, functional nutrition, and the Mediterranean diet;
Development and validation of food products and nutraceuticals;
Consumer behavior studies related to food choices and nutrition;
Science communication and food literacy;
Health and sustainability impact assessment of nutritional interventions;
Strong connections with local communities and stakeholder networks for pilot implementation.
We are available to participate as an active partner in proposals aligned with this topic, contributing with scientific research, community-based interventions, dissemination activities, and impact assessment.
