Funding Opportunities: PRIMA 2024’s calls are now open

Published on

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Kindly note that there have been changes to the financial commitments of Greece, Morocco and Portugal. Greek applicants will not be able to receive funds for section 2 for 2024 calls. Additionally, the financial commitment from Morocco has been adjusted, decreasing from 2 million EUR to 1 million EUR. Please also note that the financial commitment from Portugal has evolved, from 1,125,000EUR to 1,035,000Euro. Also note that these modifications do not appear in the Annual Work Plan 2024. Please take note that the submission deadline for evaluations (Stage 2) has been revised. It is now September 25th instead of the previously stated September 24th in the annual work plan.
We are excited to announce the official launch of funding calls for 2024 PRIMA projects. In 2024, PRIMA is embarking on a transformative journey by integrating the WEFE Nexus approach into all its thematic calls. This strategic decision stems from the recognition that existing threats to natural resources, heightened by globalization, necessitate a comprehensive and interconnected response. PRIMA acknowledges the imperative need for a comprehensive and interconnected strategy to address these issues effectively. The integration of the Nexus approach across all thematic calls aims to contribute to the overall security and sustainability of the Mediterranean region. By providing a framework that facilitates informed decision-making, PRIMA seeks to ensure the balance of trade-offs and synergies, preserving the integrity of ecosystems. Applications are now open and will be accepted until the Submission deadline Section 1 Stage 1, April 2nd 2024, Submission deadline Section 2 Stage 1, April 4th, 2024 (see calendar below). Interested applicants can find more information and the eligibility criteria on our website, Annual Work Plan 2024. The 2024 thematic areas include integrated and sustainable water management for arid and semi-arid Mediterranean regions, sustainable farming systems addressing environmental constraints in the Mediterranean, and the development of a sustainable Mediterranean food value chain for regional and local growth.
