The National Agricultural Research Centre (NARC) in Jordan is a leading public research institution specialising in agricultural innovation under arid and semiarid conditions. We are interested in contributing as a partner focusing on the agricultural application and performance evaluation of treated and desalinated brackish water in Mediterranean semi-arid conditions. Our expertise includes soil–plant–water interactions, fertigation optimization, nutrient dynamics, and crop productivity under water stress and salinity conditions.
We aim to support the field validation of decentralized water treatment systems by assessing their impacts on soil health, nutrient availability, and crop performance (e.g., field and horticultural crops). We also help create sustainable irrigation methods that make better use of water and improve farming practices that can withstand climate changes by managing soil and water together.
Our institution provides strong capacity in multi-location field trials, data analysis, and applied research under real farming conditions.
Jordan represents an ideal case study for testing decentralized water treatment solutions under severe water scarcity and salinity conditions. We are open to collaboration in pilot studies, field demonstrations, and scaling strategies within Mediterranean environments.
