Consumers Lebanon is an association that aims to educate consumers about their rights and duties and defend them. The association is a member of the International Consumer Organization and the Arab Consumer Federation. The Consumer Association was established in 2000, and it has conducted dozens of campaigns to improve food safety, communications, transportation, and prices, and has worked with schools to improve student health and nutrition. It also contributed to the adoption of laws to preserve the consumer, including the consumer law, food, air pollution, smoking reduction, med diet awareness etc., representation in technical committees within ministries, and the establishment of training courses and awareness campaigns with municipalities. Within the framework of the Green Week project organized by the International Consumer Organization in cooperation with consumer societies in the world and this year, Lebanon participates through the association in the awareness project on the consumption of organic products through a series of lectures held in universities and schools centered on the importance of these crops for the Lebanese Consumer and raising awareness about circular economy and sharing clothes between consumers to reduce wastes and to let consumers take the sharing items like a habit, also we make many campaigns about reducing plastic waste and how we can reuse some plastic materials ,consumers Lebanon Partners with Prima project ,UNIDO,FAO.USAID..

Consumers Lebanon, established in 2000, is a non-governmental consumer rights organization with over two decades of operational experience at both grassroots and national levels. The association has successfully implemented a wide range of multi-sectoral projects focused on consumer protection, public health, food safety, and sustainable consumption, many of which were co-funded by international agencies such as the FAO, UNIDO, USAID, and the PRIMA Project. Consumers Lebanon demonstrates a high level of institutional maturity, with well-established internal systems for project coordination, human resources management, monitoring and evaluation, and stakeholder engagement. The team is composed of professionals with expertise in project management, environmental policy, consumer law, youth engagement, public health, and communication. The association also deploys trained volunteers and community leaders to extend outreach across Lebanese regions. The association’s leadership holds active roles in ministerial technical committees, enabling effective policy advocacy and alignment of field-level implementation with national strategic priorities. The organization’s methodology is participatory and inclusive, ensuring that interventions are responsive to community needs and stakeholder inputs. From a financial perspective, Consumers Lebanon has consistently demonstrated stable and sufficient financial capacity. It maintains a proven track record of financial accountability, with regularly audited statements, internal financial controls, and the ability to manage both restricted and unrestricted funds. Cash flow for project implementation is maintained through contingency reserves and strong relationships with local partners and donors. specific Competence and Experience in Youth Engagement (Eco-Youth Strand) Consumers Lebanon has extensive experience in youth-focused environmental education and capacity-building. The organization has conducted numerous programs in partnership with schools, universities, and municipalities to raise awareness on eco-friendly practices among youth, such as: ● Sustainable consumption and responsible food choices (e.g., organic and local produce), ● Waste reduction and recycling practices, ● Circular economy principles (including clothing sharing initiatives and plastic reuse), ● Climate awareness and advocacy. Through campaigns such as Green Week, the association has designed and delivered interactive workshops, youth-led campaigns, and peer-learning activities, empowering young people to become environmental ambassadors within their communities. This experience directly supports the objectives of the eco-youth strand, ensuring that youth are not only beneficiaries but active co-creators of sustainable solutions.
