We are a Moroccan multidisciplinary research team bringing together senior scientists, food processing technologists, and agronomists from three of the country’s leading public institutions dedicated to agriculture, food, and life sciences: the National Institute of Agricultural Research (INRA Morocco), the National School of Agriculture of Meknès (ENAM), and the Faculties of Science and Technology (including FST and UMP). Together, these institutions form one of Morocco’s most active research clusters in agri-food R&D, covering the full chain from primary production and agronomy to post-harvest handling, food processing, quality and safety, and the valorization of by-products. Our team has a strong and consolidated track record in European and Mediterranean cooperation, being currently involved in more than six ongoing PRIMA-funded projects, which span a wide thematic scope ranging from agronomy and sustainable crop systems to food processing, post-harvest technologies, and circular valorization of agri-food by-products..
We are seeking to join a consortium as a Moroccan technical and implementation partner, contributing to Work Packages aligned with our core competencies in post-harvest technologies, on-site food transformation, valorization of agri-food by-products, food quality and safety, and the field-level validation of innovative solutions (including digital traceability tools) along Mediterranean agri-food value chains. Our team can contribute to a range of tasks, including: characterization of perishable commodities (fruits, vegetables, marine products); development and testing of decentralized processing and preservation solutions adapted to small producers and cooperatives; valorization of processing by-products within a circular bioeconomy approach; microbiological, biochemical, and physico-chemical analyses; food quality, safety, and shelf-life assessment; mapping of value chains and identification of critical traceability points; pilot deployments and user-centered validation of digital tools with real end-users; as well as dissemination, training, and capacity-building activities targeting cooperatives, farmers, and processors. Through our established networks of cooperatives and farmers across diverse Moroccan agro-ecological zones, we can serve as a regional demonstration and living-lab hub on the southern Mediterranean shore.
