The Center of Biotechnology-Borj-Cédria is a public research center, composed of six research structures (laboratories).
The Laboratory of Plant Molecular Physiology, carries research works on the response of several plant species to biotic and abiotic stresses on the physiological, proteomic, metabolomic, metagenomic and molecular scales, and focuses on the valorization of residual plant biomass from vineyards, citrus orchards,…and different industries (wine, tobacco,..) to develop added-value products for food, feed, agriculture,…. within a circular economy context.
Within Thematic Area 2- Topic 1.2.1-(IA), we are carrying research activities on the development of new feed formulations from plant biomass residuals.
Within Thematic Area 3. Topic 1.3.1. (IA), we studied different stabilisation techniques to preserve perishable fruits such as grapes and are targeting to develop on-site prototypes for fruit preservation.
