I am seeking to establish a collaborative partnership for the development of an innovative hybrid solar–geothermal drying system, aligned with the topic “Sustainable On-Site Transformation of Perishable Mediterranean Agri-food Products The proposed collaboration aims to combine solar energy with geothermal hot groundwater to enable a continuous, energy-efficient drying process for perishable agricultural products. This approach is particularly suitable for arid and semi-arid regions, where post-harvest losses are significant and sustainable processing solutions are needed. The system is designed to overcome the intermittency of solar drying by integrating a stable geothermal heat source, allowing for reliable, on-site transformation of perishable products such as fruits, vegetables, and medicinal plants. This contributes to value addition, reduced waste, and improved supply chain resilience in Mediterranean environments. The collaboration may include:Thermal system design and optimization Prototype development and experimental validation Field implementation in arid and Mediterranean regions Joint publications, patents, and technology transfer Industrial scaling and sustainable business model development The objective is to co-develop a functional prototype and advance toward real-world deployment of sustainable, decentralized agri-food processing systems, directly at the production site. This collaboration is open to research institutions, engineers, industry stakeholders, and funding bodies interested in sustainable agriculture, renewable energy integration, and food security in Mediterranean regions.
