KEYWORDS

Hericium spp., Hericenones, Medicinal mushrooms, Neuropharmacology, Biotechnological valorization

DESCRIPTION

Isolation, structural elucidation, and physicochemical characterization of Hericenones from mushrooms of the genus Hericium, and evaluation of their neuroprotective and anti-aging activities for applications in neuropharmacology and cosmetology

REMARKS

Algeria, rich in largely unexplored fungal biodiversity, represents a promising area for isolating new strains of Hericium fungi and characterizing their secondary metabolites. In-depth study of Algerian hericenones could thus contribute to the biotechnological valorization of local natural resources, while also paving the way for new therapeutic and cosmetic applications.
