The proposed collaboration seeks to bring together a multidisciplinary consortium of academic institutions, research centers, industry partners, and public stakeholders to address key challenges within the Water–Energy–Food–Ecosystems (WEFE) Nexus in the Mediterranean region. The collaboration will focus on integrating advanced ICT and data-driven solutions such as remote sensing, artificial intelligence, and non-invasive monitoring systems into sustainable water management, resilient farming systems, and efficient food value chains. Partners will contribute complementary expertise, ranging from environmental sciences and agricultural engineering to computer science and policy development, ensuring a holistic and scalable approach. The collaboration will emphasize knowledge sharing, co-development of innovative solutions, pilot testing in real-world environments, and alignment with regional policies to maximize impact, sustainability, and adoption across Mediterranean ecosystems.
