AquaValor is a Portuguese R&I centre dedicated to the sustainable valorisation of water and biological resources, aligned with PRIMA 2026 priorities on water management, farming systems, and agri-food value chains. Adopting a Water–Energy–Food–Ecosystems (WEFE) Nexus approach, AquaValor develops research on integrated solutions addressing water quality, food security, and ecosystem sustainability. Its work focuses on water treatment and reuse, circular bio-based products, and digital-based tools for monitoring. AquaValor contributes to sustainable value chains, climate-resilient agriculture and food value-chains, and ecosystem preservation in Mediterranean contexts. With strong expertise in biotechnology and applied research, the centre bridges science and industry. Through international collaboration, AquaValor supports co-creation of scalable, impact-driven solutions aligned with PRIMA’s Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda.

AQUAVALOR seeks to join a high-impact PRIMA consortium as a key partner in applied biotechnology, microbiology, and sustainable development. Building on its experience in microbial safety, bio-based products, and valorisation of water and endogenous resources, AQUAVALOR aims to contribute to solutions with clear pathways to implementation. The organisation is particularly aligned with PRIMA Section 2 (RIA) topics, focusing on monitoring systems, food safety, and traceability, as well as circular bioeconomy approaches. AQUAVALOR is also interested in contributing to higher TRL projects under Section 1, especially in sustainable feed development and agri-food processing. AQUAVALOR seeks complementary partners in ICT, industry, and environmental sciences to co-develop scalable, innovation-driven solutions addressing Mediterranean challenges in food systems and water sustainability.
AQUAVALOR is a flexible and highly collaborative partner with strong experience in international R&I projects and multidisciplinary environments. The team is well-positioned to contribute across multiple work packages, from experimental design and data generation to validation and dissemination. AQUAVALOR is particularly interested in early engagement during proposal development to actively shape project concepts, ensure strong alignment with call expectations, and maximise impact and innovation potential. The organisation is also open to exploring long-term strategic partnerships beyond the scope of a single project.
