Consortium Search for PRIMA 2026-Expertise in Remote Sensing, ET Modelling & Smart Agriculture
Our organisation is part of the General Directorate of Agricultural Research and Policies (TAGEM) under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in Türkiye. We are affiliated with the Atatürk Soil, Water and Agricultural Meteorology Research Institute and operate within the Climate Change and Agricultural Meteorology Unit. Our work focuses on applied research in climate change adaptation, agricultural sustainability, and natural resource management. We have strong expertise in remote sensing, GIS, and data-driven approaches for monitoring soil–water–plant interactions. Our research includes the use of satellite imagery (e.g., Sentinel-2), UAV-based multispectral data, and field measurements to assess crop conditions, drought dynamics, and water use efficiency. We are actively involved in national and international projects related to agricultural drought monitoring, climate risk assessment, and decision-support systems. Our institute contributes to policy-relevant research aligned with national strategies on climate change, sustainable agriculture, and water management.

DESCRIPTION

We are seeking to join an existing consortium for the PRIMA 2026 call and contribute as a technical partner in the fields of remote sensing, digital agriculture, and climate-resilient farming systems. Our team can support the project through the integration of satellite-based monitoring (e.g., Sentinel-2), UAV multispectral data, and field observations for crop condition assessment, disease and pest detection, and water-related analysis. We have experience in developing data-driven approaches for drought monitoring, evapotranspiration (ET) estimation, and soil–water–plant interaction analysis. Within the selected topics, we aim to contribute particularly to: • the development of remote and non-invasive monitoring systems for early detection of crop stress, diseases, and pest infestation (Topic 2.2.1), • and the assessment of water use efficiency and climate resilience in agricultural systems through Earth observation and modelling approaches (Topic 1.1.1). We are interested in collaborating with partners working on AI/ML, IoT systems, desalination technologies, and decision support platforms, where our role would focus on data acquisition, processing, modelling, and validation using remote sensing and geospatial techniques. We are open to contributing to both research and implementation activities, including pilot studies, field validation, and integration into digital decision-support systems.

REMARKS

We are a public research institute with strong expertise in remote sensing, climate change, and digital agriculture. We can contribute through data-driven analysis, field validation, and pilot implementations using both satellite and UAV data. We have access to experimental fields and in-situ data, supporting real-world testing and demonstration. We are motivated to join a collaborative consortium and open to further discussion on roles and contributions.
