National Agricultural Research Center (NARC) – Jordan The National Agricultural Research Center (NARC) is Jordan’s principal government agricultural research institution, operating under the umbrella of the Ministry of Agriculture. It was established to conduct applied agricultural scientific research and technology transfer nationwide, with origins dating back to 1958 when agricultural scientific research began as a department before evolving into the present centre.
Mission & Vision: NARC aims to use locally-derived and global research findings to increase and improve plant and animal agricultural production, optimise natural resource use, support agricultural development, and preserve environmental balance for sustainable development.
Functions & Activities: The Centre determines national agricultural research priorities in cooperation with relevant authorities, develops and adopts technologies suited to local conditions, disseminates and adapts agricultural innovations, provides consultancy and technical services, conducts field surveys, and supports capacity building through training, workshops, and conferences. It also preserves biodiversity through field studies and manages the National Seed Bank. Structure & Reach: NARC’s headquarters is located in Al-Baqaa, Balqa Governorate, north of Amman, and it oversees multiple regional research centres and stations across Jordan’s climatic zones.
Collaboration: The Centre works with local, Arab, and international partners to implement research programmes and contribute to agricultural innovation, sustainability, and development.

1- Topic 1.3.1-2026 (IA) Title: Sustainable on-site transformation of perishable Mediterranean agri-products.
– I can offer expertise in protecting perishable crops from insect damage during post-harvest or on-site processing
– Integration of eco-friendly pest control during storage/processing.
– Monitoring insect populations using traps and field data .
– Support sustainability and reduce post-harvest losses .
– I am looking for : Partners in agri-tech, processing, and storage solutions.
– SMEs and research institutes for sustainable post-harvest management.
– Coordinators for Mediterranean-focused IA projects.
2- Topic 2.2.1-2026 (RIA) Novel remote and non-invasive ICT monitoring and control systems against disease and pest infestation.
I am looking to collaborate with partners developing innovative ICT solutions for agriculture, particularly in the areas of remote sensing, AI-based pest detection, IoT systems, and decision-support tools.
Specifically, I am interested in:
– ICT and technology partners:
Experts in artificial intelligence, image analysis, sensor technologies, and smart farming systems for real-time pest and disease monitoring.
– Remote sensing and data analytics experts:
– Partners working with drones, satellite data, and predictive modeling to improve early detection and forecasting of pest outbreaks.
– Research institutions and universities:
– Collaborators with expertise in ecology, biodiversity, and plant protection to support multidisciplinary approaches.
– Agri-tech SMEs and industry partners:
– Companies developing digital agriculture tools and precision farming solutions for pest management.
-Consortium coordinators:
Experienced partners interested in leading or expanding a strong consortium for PRIMA calls related to sustainable agriculture and pest monitoring.
I am particularly interested in contributing to projects that combine biological knowledge with digital technologies to develop smart, sustainable, and non-invasive pest management systems adapted to Mediterranean agroecosystems.
I am open to collaboration in multidisciplinary projects combining entomology, ecology, ICT, and plant protection Willing to contribute to proposal writing, field validation, bioassays, and dissemination Interested in projects that reduce chemical pesticide use and support biodiversity-friendly agriculture
