Through real-time soil moisture content monitoring and management in a Mediterranean field, this project aims to develop and implement smart irrigation scheduling protocols for drought-tolerant rice varieties. Smart irrigation technology, including soil moisture sensors, automated control systems, and data-driven decision tools, will be integrated into the project to increase crop output, optimize water use, and support sustainable agroecological practices at the farm level.
