Seeking Partners for Innovative Research Consortium
TerraPods a Lebanon-based biomaterial innovation hub, seeks to join a consortium for PRIMA (Topic 2.2.1-2025 Upscaling Agroecology Practices at the Farm Level in the Mediterranean) on upscaling agroecology practices in the Mediterranean. We offer expertise in research, data collection, education and awareness, agroecological farming, combined with developing low-tech biomaterials. TerraPods integrates a biodiverse food forest and low-tech bio-lab, providing real world testing grounds for climate-adaptive practices to support soil health, circular economies, and resilient food systems. Ongoing activities include low-tech R&D into algae, cellulose, fibre and mycelium based biomaterials, and regenerative cultivation methods. Through our international residencies and hands-on trainings in agroecology and biofabrication, we promote biodiversity, empower local stewardship, and develop scalable models for Mediterranean agriculture that prioritize conservation, coexistence, and ecological restoration. We aim to contribute to biodiversity enhancement, climate resilience and sustainable business models in Mediterranean agriculture through our interdisciplinary approach, combining innovative biomaterial solutions with a deep understanding of local ecological and social contexts.
