Exploring the Water Energy Food Ecosystems Nexus: a call for a unified definition at DNC 2025 (Dresden Nexus Conference)

Published on

  • The Dresden Nexus Conference serves as a hub to propel the sustainable development agenda, uniting key stakeholders who implement a Nexus Approach in managing resources.
  • Set to occur in Dresden, Germany, from April 8th to 10th, 2025.
  • Ali Rhouma from PRIMA will lead a session titled “A Robust Definition of the Nexus – Insights from Resource Nexus and Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystem Nexus applications.”
  • Abstract submissions and event registration are now open.

Since the 2011 Bonn Conference, multiple definitions of the Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystems (WEFE) Nexus have emerged, yet no universally accepted one exists, creating challenges for consistent application.

In April 2025, PRIMA will play a key role in shaping this discussion at the Dresden Nexus Conference (DNC 2025) in Germany. Representing PRIMA, Ali Rhouma will lead a session focused on defining and operationalizing the Nexus framework.

Join this session to explore real-world case studies and contribute to refining a comprehensive, practical Nexus definition that resonates across disciplines and stakeholders.
