We are seeking to join a consortium for Topic 1.2.1-2026 (IA) as an Algerian partner. Our team is based at the University of Biskra, located in an arid region of Algeria with strong agricultural and livestock production. We can contribute expertise and local capacity in: Local biomass and agri-food by-product valorisation: access to date palm residues, agricultural waste streams, and regional feed resources relevant to alternative feed formulation. Field validation and demonstration: access to local livestock production systems and experimental sites for testing alternative feed solutions under Mediterranean arid conditions (TRL 6–7). Feed safety and quality assessment: experience in feed composition analysis, mycotoxin monitoring, and animal health-related evaluation. We are looking for a consortium coordinated by an EU/associated country partner, ideally with expertise in feed formulation, LCA/economic assessment, or SME-led exploitation. We are particularly interested in contributing to work packages on feed validation, local adaptation, and demonstration activities in North African farming systems. We are open to discussing the specific role and work package contribution based on consortium needs.
The University of Mohamed Khider Biskra is a public higher education and research institution in Algeria, offering undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs across diverse disciplines. The university places strong emphasis on academic excellence and scientific research, supporting innovation through its research laboratories and international collaborations. With a strategic focus on sustainable agriculture, water management, and applied ICT solutions for arid regions, the university is well-positioned to contribute to PRIMA’s objectives in the Mediterranean context.

We propose to contribute to Topic 1.2.1-2026 (IA) as an Algerian partner specializing in feed validation and safety assessment under arid Mediterranean conditions. Our laboratory at the University of Biskra can undertake activities related to local biomass valorisation (particularly date palm by-products and agri-food side-streams), feed safety and quality analysis, and field-level validation of alternative feed formulations in Algerian livestock production systems. We are seeking a consortium coordinated by an EU/associated country partner, with complementary expertise in feed formulation, LCA/economic assessment, and SME-led exploitation. We are open to contributing to work packages on regional validation, feed safety monitoring, or demonstration activities, and welcome academic and industrial partners working on circular feed solutions.
