Vision : The laboratory’s vision is to be a leading center in the field of fisheries research, contributing to the sustainable development of the aquaculture sector and working to advance it through innovative scientific research that helps provide healthy and safe food for current and future generations, in accordance with the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation’s 2030 strategy.
By achieving this mission and vision, the Central Laboratory for Fisheries Research seeks to enhance the sector’s sustainability and increase its productivity, serving the national economy and strengthening food security.
Mission: To implement the research strategy aimed at developing aquaculture and lakes directly related to public policy, and integrating it with plant and animal production policies, in order to meet the nutritional needs for fish protein, increase self-sufficiency rates in fish protein foods, and work towards exporting fish after achieving self-sufficiency, while considering the environmental, social, and economic dimensions, developing rural and desert communities, transferring advanced technology to beneficiaries, and adapting and communicating the results of this research and studies to relevant authorities and decision-makers.
– Collaborations to develop innovative solutions for food security, nutrition, and challenges facing aquaculture and fisheries sectors, Egyptian stakeholders, like your Agricultural Research Center, can join via national contact points for capacity building and pilot projects.
– Collaborations to address water scarcity, sustainable farming, and agro-food value chains in Mediterranean countries, including aquaculture and fisheries innovations.
– Collaboration to strengthen capacity building and knowledge transfer between partners in (Training and mobility activities- workshops, exchanges of researchers and technicians, and how these will improve local capacities in aquaculture and fisheries.
