BDIAR is a non-profit government agency affiliated with the General Directorate of Agricultural Research and Policies under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, conducting R&D activities in the fields of agriculture and livestock.
In addition to plant (cereals, industrial crops, food legumes, medicinal and aromatic plants, forage and pasture crops) and animal production (small ruminants, poultry), the Institute focuses on the conservation and sustainability of biological diversity, the conservation and sustainability of plant and animal genetic resources, plant and animal socio-economics, plant line and variety development, the development of plant and animal production techniques, animal breed and strain development, animal nutrition, animal welfare, housing systems, and biotechnology, among other areas. The Institute is the world’s third and Turkey’s first drought testing center. The center’s mission is to develop and disseminate climate-resilient, drought-tolerant plants to accelerate adaptation. Additionally, the Institute serves as the coordinator of the International Winter Wheat Improvement Program (IWWIP). The Institute maintains a flock of 2,500 sheep and 10,000 decares of agricultural land for use in various R&D projects and training programs. Furthermore, the Institute’s researchers have participated in numerous national projects as well as those supported by the FAO, PRIMA, and Erasmus+.

I work in the Department of Agricultural Economics at the Institute. My research focuses on agricultural and food policies, subsidies and impact assessment studies, natural resources, the environment, energy economics policies, agricultural production, supply, and food security, business structures and planning, forward-looking reports on products and product groups, agricultural infrastructure and rural development, marketing, and issues related to production and consumption. I would like to participate in consortia where I can contribute.
