Our Institute provide a “Multi-Actor Approach” that spans the entire value chain—from laboratory analysis to field-scale demonstration and international dissemination. This partnership not only ensures scientific rigor in soil-water-food nexus projects but also guarantees that the project outcomes are scalable, socially inclusive, and directly applicable to the urgent environmental needs of the Mediterranean region. Our combined strengths position us to lead innovative work packages that bridge the gap between theoretical soil science and practical, climate-resilient farming solutions.

1. Profile of the Expert & Key Competencies
As a dedicated Soil Scientist with a specialization in Plant Nutrition, Organic Fertilization, and Soil Salinity Management, I offer advanced technical expertise in addressing the critical environmental challenges of the Mediterranean. My research focus lies at the intersection of soil health and climate resilience, specifically in:
Developing precision fertigation reigmes for saline environments.
Optimizing organic amendment strategies (compost, biochar, liquid organic fertilizers) to enhance soil organic matter and carbon sequestration.
Mitigating abiotic stress in crops through targeted nutrient management.
2. Institutional Backbone: International Agricultural Research and Training Center (UTAEM)
The proposed collaboration is supported by the comprehensive infrastructure of İzmir UTAEM. This partnership provides:
Validated Field Sites: Extensive trial fields for Innovation Actions (IA), suitable for “Living Labs” implementation.
Accredited Laboratories: High-capacity soil, water, and plant analysis labs to ensure scientific rigor and data-driven results.
Dissemination Hub: A proven track record in international training, ensuring that project outcomes reach a wide network of Mediterranean stakeholders.
3. Proposed Contribution to PRIMA 2026 Calls
We are looking to join or lead a consortium for the following topics:
Topic 1.1.1-2026 (IA): Implementing soil-based validation for decentralized desalination and brackish water reuse.
Topic 1.3.1-2026 (IA): Enhancing the nutrient profile and sustainability of on-site transformed agri-food products.
Section 2 (RIA) – Farming Systems: Researching the long-term impact of regenerative practices on soil biodiversity and salinity levels.
4. Collaboration Goals
Integrated Multi-Actor Approach: We aim to bridge the gap between academic soil science and practical field application by engaging local farmers and SMEs.
Scaling Innovation: Utilizing UTAEM’s “NexusLabs” experience to scale-up lab-scale innovations to real-world Mediterranean farming systems.
Knowledge Exchange: Contributing to Work Packages related to Capacity Building and Technical Training for Mediterranean researchers and growers.
