CRF (www.crfoundation.eu) is a research organization working at the interface between Digital Twin Technology, Process Scale-Up Engineering, and Model-Based Governance. We are interested in developing integrated research pathways that combine these domains to support the design and consolidation of resilient socio-technical systems, with application to cross-sectoral governance and policy frameworks in the Mediterranean WEFE Nexus, addressing challenges such as institutional collaboration, scaling of best practices, and fostering coordinated stakeholder engagement. Through Euro-Mediterranean testbeds and territorial living labs, we explore how advanced modelling, experimental validation and coordinated transition processes can contribute to SDGs localization, circular value-chain development, and to applying place-based approaches, supporting their effective translation into territorial practice. This work allows us to address the multiple dimensions of socio-technical system transformation, linking technological innovation with governance processes and cultural drivers of change, and fostering adaptive and interconnected territorial ecosystems.
