Biodiversity, pollinators, applied entomology and living-lab validation for Mediterranean water and farming systems
Kerno Lumo is an applied innovation and ecology company working at the intersection of regenerative agriculture, biodiversity, water, pollination and Mediterranean land management. We help turn ecological complexity and field knowledge into practical decisions, measurable indicators and real-world validation.
Our work focuses on pilot design and field validation, biodiversity assessment and monitoring, applied entomology, pollinator and apiculture-related systems, and decision-support approaches for regenerative farming and landscape restoration. We are especially interested in Mediterranean dryland systems, ecosystem functions, soil-water-biodiversity interactions, and context-aware tools that are useful for farmers, land managers and local stakeholders.

We are looking for consortium partners for PRIMA 2026, especially under Topic 2.1.1, Topic 2.2.1 and Topic 2.3.1.
Kerno Lumo can contribute to the design and validation of field pilots and living labs in Mediterranean dryland and regenerative systems, with a strong focus on biodiversity monitoring, ecosystem functions, applied entomology, pollinators, apiculture-related systems, and practical indicators linking soil, water, insects and vegetation.
We are particularly interested in collaborations on:
– protection and restoration of non-perennial watercourses through nature-based and agroecological approaches;
– remote and non-invasive monitoring of pest and disease dynamics, especially where ecological knowledge and field validation are needed;
– context-aware traceability approaches for food value chains linked to biodiversity, land stewardship, small-scale production and territorial authenticity.
We would be especially interested in connecting with partners such as universities, research centres, SMEs, public bodies, water-management actors, ICT providers, and living labs in Mediterranean Partner Countries. We can contribute scientific framing, pilot design, ecological monitoring, biodiversity indicators, pollinator-related expertise, and field-based validation.
We are particularly interested in building collaborations with partners from Mediterranean Partner Countries and with organisations managing real pilot territories, water-related challenges, biodiversity monitoring, agri-food value chains, or farmer-oriented innovation. We value practical, field-based and multi-actor projects with strong ecological grounding.
