The Borj Cedria Biotechnology Center is responsible for conducting research, experimentation, and technological development in the field of biotechnology and its integration into the economic and social spheres- To carry out research programs under the responsibility of the research structures under the center’s authority,
To this end, he is specifically responsible for:
– To participate in the development of scientific and technological research in the field of biotechnology, particularly plant biotechnology,
– To carry out research programs under the responsibility of the research structures under the center’s authority,
– To undertake, at the request of ministries, national institutions, public and private establishments and companies, within the framework of agreements established for this purpose, any research, experimentation, or expertise aimed in particular at:
(i) the development of biotechnological processes for improving plant species to enhance their tolerance to abiotic stresses such as salinity and drought;
(ii) the identification, exploitation, and improvement of the country’s plant resources using biotechnological processes;
(iii) the identification, improvement, and mastery of techniques, and the acquisition of technological expertise in the field of plant biotechnology.

I am looking for possible collaboration in the following themes:
1- Identification of useful molecular markers for plant tolerance improvement towards biotic and abiotic constraints;
2- Plant genetic engineering through Agrobacterium tumefaciens and genome editing of species such as grapevine, barley, and leguminous;
3- Omics studies including proteomics and metabolomics under biotic and abiotic stresses;
4-Plant In vitro culture for improvement, bioconservation of endangered plant species and large scale production;
5- Circular economy and biomass valorization;
6- Plant biofertilizers for sustainable agriculture;
