The National Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology (INSAT), part of the University of Carthage, is a leading public engineering and applied sciences institution in Tunisia. It is recognized for its multidisciplinary education, high-level research, and strong engagement with industry and societal challenges.
INSAT offers advanced training in engineering, biological sciences, and technological innovation, with a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary approaches. The institute hosts several research laboratories, including those specialized in eco-chemistry, biotechnology, and food science, contributing to national and international research programs.
As part of the University of Carthage, INSAT actively participates in collaborative projects addressing key issues such as sustainable development, functional nutrition, environmental health, and digital transformation. The institution promotes innovation, supports technology transfer, and encourages the development of solutions with real-world impact, particularly in the Mediterranean context.

I am seeking to establish a multidisciplinary collaboration within the PRIMA framework, bringing together expertise in functional nutrition, bioinformatics, food technology, and artificial intelligence to address key challenges in sustainable Mediterranean food systems.
The proposed collaboration aims to co-develop innovative approaches for the valorization of local agro-resources and food by-products (e.g., dates, carob, cereals) into high-value functional ingredients. It will integrate experimental and in silico methodologies, including bioactive compound characterization, molecular modeling, and predictive analytics.
A key component of the collaboration involves the development of AI-driven digital tools, platform, to enable real-time nutritional assessment, personalized dietary recommendations, and data-driven decision-making for public health and food services.
I am particularly interested in partnering with:
• Research institutions specializing in omics technologies (genomics, metabolomics, microbiome)
• Universities and laboratories with expertise in food processing, formulation, and pilot-scale validation
• Industrial partners in the agro-food and nutraceutical sectors
• Digital and AI teams for platform development and data integration
The collaboration will emphasize co-creation, knowledge exchange, and capacity building, with a strong focus on measurable outcomes, including scientific publications, innovative food products, digital solutions, and policy-relevant recommendations for sustainable and healthy diets in the Mediterranean region.
I am highly motivated to contribute to collaborative, interdisciplinary projects addressing the nexus between nutrition, health, and sustainability in the Mediterranean region. My research combines experimental, computational, and AI-driven approaches, with a strong focus on translating scientific findings into practical solutions for public health and the agro-food sector.
I am particularly interested in contributing to proposal development, work package leadership, and the integration of digital tools (e.g., AI-based nutritional platforms) within research and innovation projects. I am also open to supervising students, co-authoring scientific publications, and engaging in knowledge transfer activities.
With experience in international collaborations and participation in projects aligned with PRIMA priorities, I am committed to delivering high-quality outputs, fostering innovation, and ensuring measurable impact at both scientific and societal levels.
