The National Agricultural Research Center (NARC) is the leading public agricultural research institution in Jordan, operating under the Ministry of Agriculture. NARC is dedicated to enhancing agricultural productivity and sustainability through innovative scientific research and technology transfer.

National Mandate: As the primary research body in Jordan, NARC bridges the gap between scientific innovation and field application, maintaining direct links with farmers, SMEs, and policy-makers.
Infrastructure: We operate a network of 8 regional centers and 15 experimental stations across Jordan’s diverse agro-ecological zones (from the Jordan Valley to the arid Badia), providing a unique “living lab” for testing climate-resilient farming systems.
Technical Facilities: Our Biotechnology Research Directorate is equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories for plant tissue culture, molecular biology, seed, specifically focused on drought and salinity adaptation.
International Experience: NARC has a long-standing history of successful collaboration with international organizations including FAO, World Bank, ICARDA, IFAD, and previous PRIMA/Horizon consortia, ensuring high standards of financial and administrative management for international grants.

Alternative Feed Source Development: We offer deep expertise in identifying and valorizing drought-tolerant Mediterranean species as sustainable ingredients for the next generation of animal feeds.
Biotechnology & Micropropagation: Our directorate can lead tasks related to the rapid propagation, genetic characterization, and biochemical analysis of alternative feed crops.
Large-Scale Pilot Demonstrations (IA): We provide access to 15 experimental stations across Jordan’s diverse climatic zones (Arid to Saline), enabling robust field validation and “Innovation Action” demonstrations in real-world Mediterranean conditions.
Our goal is to ensure the proposed solutions are resilient, scalable, and tailored to the specific challenges of the Southern Mediterranean region.
