AICFD operates at the intersection of sustainable forestry and agriculture, focusing on the practical implementation of solutions that improve land management, ecosystem resilience, and productivity. Its work combines field-based activities with the integration of innovative technologies, including tools for land monitoring, agricultural management, and reforestation processes. By embedding these solutions directly into real operational contexts, AICFD ensures that technologies are not only tested, but also adapted to local environmental and socio-economic conditions.
A central element of AICFD’s approach is its capacity to structure collaborative environments for co-design and co-validation. Working closely with landowners, local communities, public authorities, and technology providers, AICFD facilitates the joint development and validation of solutions through its testbeds and territorial networks. This enables the assessment of performance, usability, and impact in real conditions, supporting the uptake and scalability of innovations. Through this model, AICFD plays a key role in connecting innovation with practice, contributing to the development of sustainable and resilient land-based systems in the Mediterranean region.

AICFD contributes to PRIMA projects through the implementation and validation of solutions in real territorial contexts, combining testbeds, stakeholder engagement, and co-design approaches. Its work focuses on bridging innovation and practice by enabling technologies to be tested, adapted, and adopted in Mediterranean agro-ecosystems, in close collaboration with landowners, communities, SMEs, and public authorities.
