Macro IT is highly interested in contributing to all thematic areas outlined in Section 1 of the Nexus Call. In Thematic Area 1 – Water Management in the Nexus, we see strong opportunities to apply our expertise in digital platforms, artificial intelligence, and data management to support decentralised brackish water desalination for climate‑resilient agriculture (Topic 1.1.1‑2026, IA) and to develop smart monitoring and coordination tools for ecosystem functions and water allocation in non‑perennial Mediterranean watercourses (Topic 2.1.1‑2026, RIA). In Thematic Area 2 – Farming Systems in the Nexus, Macro IT can contribute to next‑generation sustainable animal feeds (Topic 1.2.1‑2026, IA) through digital traceability and resource optimization, and to novel ICT monitoring systems against disease and pest infestation (Topic 2.2.1‑2026, RIA) by leveraging our strengths in AI, IoT, and remote sensing. In Thematic Area 3 – Food Value Chain in the Nexus, we are well positioned to support sustainable on‑site transformation of perishable agri‑food products (Topic 1.3.1‑2026, IA) and to design context‑aware digital traceability solutions for Mediterranean food value chains (Topic 2.3.1‑2026, RIA). Finally, under the Cross‑cutting Nexus Theme, Macro IT can play a leading role in institutionalising and scaling the Mediterranean WEFE Nexus Community of Practice (Topic 1.4.1‑2026, CSA) by providing digital collaboration platforms, partner coordination, and communication strategies.
