DESCRIPTION

ETRA contributes advanced digital technologies that strengthen real‑time monitoring, control, and decision‑making across agri‑food and environmental systems, fully aligned with non‑invasive monitoring, sustainable on‑site transformation, and context‑aware traceability. ETRA develops next‑generation Decision Support Systems that integrate heterogeneous real‑time data from remote and non‑invasive sensing technologies, operational inputs, and contextual information to provide clear, actionable insights for early detection or risks and mitigation of disease. These systems also support the optimisation of on‑site transformation processes for perishable Mediterranean agri‑food products, improving resource efficiency, product quality, and sustainability. In parallel, ETRA enhances food‑value‑chain transparency through digital tools that enable context‑aware traceability, integrating data flows across production, processing, and distribution. Complementing these capabilities, ETRA designs and deploys Digital Twins at farm, facility, district, or regional scale to simulate operational scenarios, environmental conditions, and technology configurations, enabling predictive analysis and improved process optimisation. ETRA also develops digital tools including AI‑based detection of abnormal parameters to ensure efficiency and resilience.
