The Mediterranean, a region already grappling with water scarcity, biodiversity loss, and land degradation, is facing increasingly frequent and intense heatwaves, droughts, floods, and wildfires. Traditional infrastructure alone cannot adequately address these complex challenges. Therefore, a paradigm shift towards integrating NbS into comprehensive risk management strategies is urgently needed.
