CREA-VE deals with viticulture with reference to table and wine grapes, including winemaking transformation.
It carries out activities for the conservation and enhancement of the national grape germplasm.
It promotes innovative cultivation techniques aimed at promoting environmental sustainability, including the soil-landscape-viticulture relationship, and food security.
It is active in chemical, biological and sensory studies relating to the transformation of grapes also through the enhancement of the biodiversity of fermentative microorganisms.
The institute located in Arezzo offers expertises in the field of agronomy, with particular reference to viticulture, plant defense and sustainability applied to face climate change, and circular economy. It is also equipped with chemistry and molecular biology laboratories. It collaborated with a critical mass of stakeholders, e.g., public authorities, farmers, private producers of biostimulants and organic fertilizers.
