Tenuta di Paganico (www.tenutadipaganico.it) is located in Italy, in the heart of Maremma in Tuscany (https://goo.gl/maps/6FmgEDBDndyPFrqV8) and it consists of 1,500 hectares organically reared: 1.100ha of forests – mainly tall tree system of Turkey Oaks - 100ha of rangelands pastures (firebreaks managed in annual or permanent grasslands), 300ha of crops, with 800 olive trees, 3 ha of vineyards and plantations. It's a long story farm, born in 1924, and gradually transformed the breeding system of Maremmana cattle, Cinta senese pigs and crosses from a tethering system and stall tie type, to a silvopastoral breeding. Animals live, graze, and browse in woods and pasture, as their natural habitat, in a proper rotation strictly linked to season and climate changes: feed is supplied only when ecosystem is not able to provide nutritional value, or, in case of nutrients displacement. All the animal feed provided is produced and processed within the farm in a short supply chain production system. We produce and directly sell fresh, cured meat and preserved meat, oil, pasta, wine, beer and grappa. Finally, we offer overnight accommodation and educational services, as a way to promote and create learning experiences.
